Privacy Policy
Who this covers
treypoteet.com is operated by Trey Poteet. It has two parts: a public portfolio, and a private project-management workspace that only its owner can sign in to. This policy covers both.
Google user data (Gmail)
The private workspace can show its owner a single inbox that combines their own mailboxes. When a Google account is connected, the app requests one Gmail permission: read-only access (gmail.readonly).
From each connected mailbox, the app reads only:
- the account's email address, to label the mailbox;
- each message's sender, recipients, subject and date, plus the short preview snippet that Gmail supplies.
Message bodies and attachments are never downloaded. The app cannot send, delete, move or modify email. Marking a message read, starred or archived inside the workspace changes only the workspace's own copy and is never written back to Gmail.
How that data is used
Only to show the owner their own mail and help them decide what needs attention. To prioritise the inbox, a message's sender, subject and preview (at most 200 characters) may be sent to an AI model provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) through their API, which returns a category, a priority and a one-line summary. Message bodies are never sent.
Google user data is not sold, is not used for advertising, is not shared with anyone else, and is not used to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine-learning models.
treypoteet.com's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and security
Data is stored in Google Cloud (Firestore) and served from Google Cloud Run. The credential that lets the app read a mailbox is stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Access to the workspace requires the owner's sign-in.
Retention and deletion
Removing a mailbox from the workspace permanently deletes its stored messages and its stored credential. Access can also be revoked at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions; the app then stops being able to read that mailbox.
Inquiries
If you contact Trey Poteet through a form on one of his websites, the name, email, phone number and message you submit are stored so the inquiry can be answered. They are not sold or shared.
